About the Project
The client, the Markham Board of Trade, is a premier business association that fosters opportunities and economies to build a stronger community for local businesses. Every year, they host an annual business excellence awards gala, inviting local businesses to attend. For the gala’s theme of Mardi Gras, the challenge was to capture the essence of the celebration without relying on traditional elements such as masks, beads, or performers.
Instead, I focused on evoking the emotions of excitement, enjoyment, and energy through visual components. The color scheme, green, yellow, and purple, pays homage to Mardi Gras, creating a festive mood that captures the spirit of the event.

A Pattern Exuding Energy
The background pattern incorporates shapes that evoke rhythm and energy, capturing the excitement of the festival. The navy color balances the vibrancy of the three other colors while remaining neutral.
